Entity Framework and ObjectContext Lifecycle

I’m trying to perform inserts during my application’s run time and it’s causing me grief. There seems to be a problem with the object contexts since after using DataBase.Tables.AddNew() to add a new object to my DataContext, it doesn’t recognize that object as being added until another method is called using the same object. What’s weird is that if I create a new objectContext using DataBase.CreateObjectContext() in an entirely different method the inserts work flawlessly.

{
context.BackgroundCheck();
context.Tables.AddNew(new Phone { Number = “987-123-4567” });
context.SaveChanges();
}

Method call after SaveChanges()
public void BackgroundCheck()
{

using (var context = DataBase.CreateObjectContext())
{
context.BackgroundCheck();
}
}

I’m assuming it has to do with how I’m creating a new object context but I’m not exactly sure.
Has anyone else experienced this type of issue?

You’re creating an entirely new instance of ObjectContext with DataBase.CreateObject
