Adobe Photoshop is a photo editing program that allows you to edit digital photographs. You can also crop, rotate, and add special effects to your pictures. There are dozens of different types of images that you can create with Adobe Photoshop. You can use Photoshop to create slideshows and banners for your website, create greeting cards, and even create print advertisements. For example, you can create high-resolution logos and images for use on business cards and website backgrounds.
The Classroom gives you the ability to teach Photoshop techniques to a group of students in a web browser or on mobile, with a teacher’s guidebook and lesson-by-lesson instruction. Also useful is the Instructor’s Guidebook (without a teacher’s guidebook) that outlines common errors and visuals for teachers for in-person and online learning. This year the Pencil was joined by the Apple Magic Keyboard with a Touch Bar. One of the strengths of Apple’s hardware designs is its thoughtful integration of different input, including a “Smart Keyboard” and a cursor-positioning “Keyboard” that is something that I’ve found myself missing on other laptops. The Touch Bar appears in two forms: in the Magic Keyboard, it has been shrunk into the keyboard and also sits above it; in the Pro, it is a larger display.
If you are using touch, you have to select a “Magic Keyboard” style key layout, which is not universal, and you have to sync the keyboard in the Mac app before you can use the Touch Bar. After you toggle off “USB Keyboard Mode” and tweak the Touch Bar, it starts working as the Logos Pro stylus. I’ve never used a “Live Scribe” pen before, but it is easy to get used to. I found it to be both reliable and accurate.
The Magic Keyboard is a relatively old laptop keyboard, but the Touch Bar lends it a more modern look. Like the other Portfolio apps, Photoshop Creative Cloud users can sync the iPad to a Mac via USB. I synced mine two ways: I enabled either USB File Transfers or iCloud and selected which I wanted to use for syncing. However, both ways give you access to all your apps. Only after I set up my iCloud was the Touch Bar activated. On a Mac desktop, the Touch Bar allows you to swipe through your apps, like a grid of icons. To use the Touch Bar in Photoshop, you have to specify which app, or “panel”, you want to appear on it. In my case, I had to select “Design” or “Web.”
