Is “Cronjob” the best way to run a CLI command that should only run once per month?

I have a script that I would like to run once per month.
I run it manually, but I don’t want to lose the output.
I’ve looked into cron jobs but was wondering if there was an easier way.
I have the following script:
#!/bin/bash
# When run once per month check the current and previous month and output the results.

# Get current date
DATE=`date +%Y%m%d`

# Get previous month
PREV_DATE=`date -v -1d`

# Check if today is the first day of the next month
DAYS_IN_MONTH=`expr $DATE \* 30`

if [ $DAYS_IN_MONTH -lt 30 ] ; then
echo “This command is only for the first day of the month” >&2
exit 1
fi

# check for differences in the current and previous month
if [ $PREV_DATE -ne $DATE ] ; then
echo “This command should only be run once per month” >&2
exit 1
fi

# check for too small or too large month
if [ $PREV_DATE -lt 1 ] ; then
echo “The previous month’s date must be greater than 1” >&2
exit 1
elif [ $PREV_DATE -gt 31 ] ; then
echo “The previous month’s date must be less than the current month” >&2
exit 1
fi

# extract data from previous month and create a new output file
DATA=`ls -l | grep “^d” | cut -d”-f1`
FILE=${DATA}.${PREV_DATE}.txt
cat < "$FILE" | cut -d

jQuery.load() not loading all content

I’m having trouble with this loading jQuery code. The issue is that the content being loaded is only the first part of the page and not the whole page.
$(document).ready(function () {
$(“#menu”).load(“menu.html”);
$(“#content”).load(“content.html”);
});

I’m trying to load content.html into #content. The content.html file contains everything that I want. But when I run this code, only the first part of content.html is loaded. Can someone help?

A:

You need to prevent the default behavior of the load() method (it simply reloads the page):
$(document).ready(function () {
$(“#menu”).load(“menu.html”, function(){
$(“#content”).load(“content.html”);
});
});

By the way, if menu.html contains an anchor link to content.html (like …) you may need to prevent this default behavior:
$(document).ready(function () {
$(“#menu”).load(“menu.html”, function(){
$(“#content”).load(“content.html”, function() {
$(“#content”).trigger(‘click’);
});
});
});

This is because of the following:

As of jQuery 1.4, a non-GET HTTP request (for instance, a POST or
PUT) will not be processed by jQuery if the url property is not a
absolute URI with a leading http or otherwise it will be
treated as a GET request.
