Student of the Year is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Astral Media. Plot

Bobby Singh (Rajkummar Rao), a businessman from India, is sent by his country’s government to the US as a student to learn about the country’s potential in the global arena. After a few months, the young businessman travels to India and meets his parents (Swara Bhasker and Akshay Kumar) at the airport. He tells them about his stint as a student in the US and his failures to progress in school. Shortly after, his parents leave for their home.

Bobby resolves to live on his own for a week, until his parents come back. During that time, Bobby meets Dev (Tara Sutaria), a co-passenger he has never spoken to before. Dev, a college drop-out, is broke and does odd jobs to support herself. Bobby tries to assist her with the house rent and other monetary problems. While helping her, he is shocked to find that she is a beautiful, intelligent and talented girl. When he learns that she is also an Indian whose parents are about to get a divorce, he falls in love with her. Together, they decide to run away from her roommate and roommate, Mandy (Ananya Panday). They eventually end up in Atlanta, Georgia.

Bobby and Dev get to know the local culture and soon get a job in Atlanta. But because of their love for each other, she refuses to have sex with him. Bobby gets frustrated and depressed, but manages to overcome his feelings. Meanwhile, Dev’s roommate, Mandy, convinces her to sleep with Bobby because he is helping her get her GED.
